Pilar launches bi-lingual Citizens Advice line

The City Council of Pilar de la Horadada has launched a Citizens Advice line in English and Spanish. This is the first time such a facility has been offered to any residents and the inclusion of English acknowledges the high percentage of residents from other European countries. The Citizens Advice line has been established to not only to provide information, but more importantly from a residents point of view it will register and process complaints and collect suggestions from those that live in the borough. These complaints can be general municipal issues such as parks, roads or rubbish collection or more specific to streets or areas.

Councillor for Staff, Francisca Canovas said: “With this, our intention is to promote and build interest among all the people that we serve.”
All information received through the municipal telephone team, will then be forwarded to the relevant department and a response or solution will be provided as soon as possible. Callers will need to provide their name, address, ID number and a contact telephone number. They will then be called back with detail of how their issue is being processed and any actions being taken.

The councillor continued: “All suggestions and complaints we receive have to be connected to municipal services and callers must maintain respect for the operator. No irate or abusive calls will be tolerated. Callers offending or violating the dignity of others will be cut off. We are also unable to process any enquiries that are not supported with the required personal data.
A city official will be responsible for dealing with calls in Spanish and English, since there is a high percentage of foreign population in the municipality of Pilar de la Horadada. The councillor assured that in the SAC (Citizen Service) workers speak English perfectly, and therefore this service will be able to accommodate both languages to provide maximum service levels to all of the boroughs residents.
The phone number is 965 351 519, and will be manned during business hours to the public from 8.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday.
