Remembrance Sunday

Remembrance Sunday, the second Sunday in November, is the day traditionally put aside to remember all those who have given their lives for peace and freedom we enjoy toady. This year the Orihuela Costa service will be held on Sunday 13 November at at the Capilla de las Mil Palmeras in the diocese of Pilar de la Horadada - next to the Olympia Restaurant. The service is 10.30am for a prompt start at 10.40am. After the Remembrance Service, Wreaths and Crosses will be laid in the Garden of Remembrance. This memorial was built in the church grounds by members of The Orihuela Costa and District Branch in October 2010.
The formal laying of wreaths ceremony will be followed by a march past of Standards, members of ex-service organisations and ex-service men and women to the Olympia Restaurant where pre-lunch drinks and lunch will be served.

During the last few years , since its inception, this event has proved immensely popular. Attended by the Mayors of Orihuela, Pillar de la Horadada, the British Consul and the Military Attache.
