Riots in London

The violence which erupted after a protest over the fatal shooting by police of Mark Duggan on Thursday gone out of hands! And now i think it has nothing to do with his death or anything else-now it's just an excuse for thugs to let loose..disgracefull! Teenagers and adults were said to have turned up in cars to Tottenham's retail park and filled their boots with stolen items, unimpeded by police.
Others arrived on foot and piled shopping trolleys high with looted electronic goods, a local woman said. I bet those people don't even know why the protests started in the first place..

Pilareño currently living in london. Disgusting situation. Pleople are mad burning cars, buildings, shops are being looted and thieves taking advantages to steal whilst people are sleeping in their own houses. A lot of people have being arrested and cells in london are full already. Emilio

A big problem the UK police have is that the thugs and hooligans here in Uk are so quick to shout Police brutality when strong measures are taken against them. The criminal elements in our midst are supported by the 'do-gooders' looking after the 'human rights' of the thugs. Terrible state of affairs

Can you imagine the Gaurdia Civil putting up with those rioters 'not ' ????????????

Commented petaferrisroberts in Pilar de la Horadada 2011-08-11 15:17:00 UTC

The biggest problem with policing in the UK is this: The punishments do not fit the crimes.......i believe people would think twice about behaving disgustingly and with no respect for other people if
1- Prisons were prisons to fear ie. prisons with rooms 6 x 6 ft with a simple bed and nothing more
2 - The justice system went back to capital punishment

Human Rights are a joke, when you break the law you lose any and all human rights you had, not gain more when you have broken the law.

The victims of crime suffer far worse than those who committed it, and to my mind this is morally incorrect.

HI EVERYONE!

What is the best place to eat in Pilar de la Horadada?

The only place that I can remember eating at is REBATE RESTAURANT, it was very good and offers international cuisine, I can not remember the prices but it was good value. It has also been about 6 years since I was there so things could have changed.

Commented Daves Homes in Rojales 2011-04-19 08:53:08 UTC

Oh, ok..but that's a bit too far for me..

Commented Liudmila in Pilar de la Horadada 2011-04-21 12:58:51 UTC

We were looking for a reasonably priced place to eat in Pilar too, our favourite is chinese ( Restaurante Nuevo Jardin Feliz) 10 out of 10!! But apart from that not sure of any other restaurants in Pilar-all seems to be too expensive. Does anyone know the place?

Commented Anthony in Pilar de la Horadada 2011-06-06 10:26:58 UTC

Asia Chinese great value.
Mount Everest (almost next door) best Nepalise/Indian
Mami near Bancaja/park do good menu del dia.
Caracoles bottom end of high street on right, great menu.
When I think of others we have tried will list again.

Cheap good Sunday lunch at

Paco & Pilar's, go out of Pilar on main road to Campoverde, sign posted at the roundabout with the agriculture man on it!

What about any restaurants and bars in Pinar de Campoverde? Can you recommend any?

Commented Liudmila in Pilar de la Horadada 2011-07-18 08:56:06 UTC

Hi Kate
We love going to El Clavel, also Tree Tops do a fab sunday lunch and our favourite Indian is Curry Cottage, all in Campoverde

Commented Bev & Stuart in Pilar de la Horadada 2011-07-19 15:26:50 UTC

Without doubt the best Spanish Restaurant is El Gallego. From the N332 at Carrefour head up to Pilar de la Horadada go past the traffic lights and turn left at the Indian 100 yards up the road. It is on the back corner of that block.

Commented opetts in Pilar de la Horadada 2011-07-25 13:03:42 UTC

Second that. El Gallego but you have to book especially at weekends, very reasonable prices.

Commented Jo Stimson in Pilar de la Horadada 2011-07-25 16:45:28 UTC

El Gallego is definatly the best,we have eaten there many times and the food is excellent, although staff need to smile a bit more !

Commented petaferrisroberts in Pilar de la Horadada 2011-07-27 09:29:42 UTC

The pizeria place in front of Cocoloco bar in Campoverde is very nice and i think it's the cheapest place there-their onion rings and squid are just great!!

Commented Natalie B. in Pilar de la Horadada 2011-08-01 08:39:27 UTC

Hi Kate, There are a few good restaurants around El Gallego but must book in advance, Caracoles or nearer the beach side of Pilar Diamantes, all good value for money. Regards Terri
